30 Day Challenge - (Day 1) “Journey To A New Me”

My 30-day journey in creating a “New Me”. Everyday I will share a short video documenting my trials and tribulations.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 4) “Journey To A New Me”

5 questions to help you find your passion.

  1. What are you willing to work harder than any other human being for?
  2. What do you care about more than anyone else?
  3. What do you believe in more than anyone else?
  4. What do you LOVE! What truly moves you?
  5. How would you finish this sentence? “I am the person that gets the call when _____________?”

Disclaimer: These questions usually do not lead to clear answers but rather more questions, but that is kind of the point.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 5) “Journey To A New Me”

TODAY’S INSIGHTS

  1. Emotions are what makes us human. That includes negative emotions such as fear, insecurity, resentment, jealousy, anger etc. We all have them and will continue to experience them for the rest of our lives.
  2. Although emotions are intrinsically intertwined with the human experience we get to choose how long we co-exist with those emotions. I believe the quality of our lives are determined by how long it takes to transform those negative emotions into something more empowering.
  3. Ignoring your negative emotions and not acknowledging and appreciating the lessons they have to offer is not only naive but also dangerous.
  4. Give yourself guilt-free time to truly experience all your emotions. BUT again take a set amount of time to go through the emotion then consciously choose to move to a different more empowering state once your venting is fully done. Worse thing you could do is feel guilty about being human.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 6) “Journey To A New Me”

TODAY’S INSIGHTS

1. Life is a full contact sport and is NOT played on the sideline: The quality of a persons life is directly correlated to their ability to engage and interact with the world.

2. Fear and doubt are eternal allies: They are inherent elements of the human condition. Therefore the key is to identify strategies to act despite fear not without it.

3. Blessed are the persecuted: Think about any truly successful person that has left a mark on the planet and you will find a person that was criticizes, ostracized and consistently persecuted because of their beliefs and passion. That is a common theme with successful people. In my opinion it is more admirable to die for something you believe in rather than living for nothing at all.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 7) “Journey To A New Me”

TODAY’S INSIGHTS

1) New projects are almost always most exciting during the early phases, but that initial honeymoon period quickly passes. That is why so many people start books, or open business, or enroll in universities but lack the determination to follow through and jump ship when the going gets tough. The insight is that by acknowledging this process you can properly prepare and manage your own expectations.

2) The purpose of this project is not for me to preach or regurgitate “positive” teachings and theories. Rather it is to share openly and honestly my experiences and emotions through the 30 days. So there will be days when I am not super charged up and may be going through a hard time. Hopefully not too many days like that but there will be a few I am sure. The insight for me is I should not feel guilty or inadequate for having those feelings. Like I said last week those feelings are apart of life and have lessons within them.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 8) “Journey To A New Me”

2 INSIGHTS FOR DAY 8

1) Never be afraid to put your hand up: Today I had an opportunity to ask one of my favourite speakers in the world, Gary Vaynerchuk the most important question in life. (see video above for more info)

2) Never be afraid to be honest: I sincerely did not feel like Gary understood my answer and I used Twitter to express my dissatisfaction.

In hindsight it was probably my fault cause I was not clear with my question. I was a little nervous, but GaryVee, the King of customer service surprised me with this tweet:

which was then followed by this tweet:

Gary you are a king amongst men. I admire you for your perseverance and success, but I honour you for your commitment to your fans. The web has a lot to learn from you!

Shout outs to @clickryan for finding me a last minute ticket which @clickflickca was gracious enough to donate . Also for all the great folks at DemoCamp that organized the event. @SaulColt, @davidcrow and @jaygoldman Great work guys!

30 Day Challenge - (Day 9) “Journey To A New Me”

INSIGHT OF THE DAY

1) There is more to life than work: I don’t know about you guys but hanging out with friends and having a lot of fun is great for my productivity and creativity.

2) Never lose a chance to tell your friends you love em: Yes I know this blog post is getting too mushy for most of you, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an important point. The truth is life is short and full of surprises. If someone makes your time on earth special don’t be afraid to let them know. It might just make their day.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 11) “Journey To A New Me”

INSIGHT OF THE DAY

1) “Without a goal it will be difficult to score” (Quote VIA of Jon Crowley)

2) Sunday should not be a day for rest alone, but rather a day to rest, prepare and review. With some fine tuning I can transform Sunday into my secret weapon. (see video for full insight)

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

“Be totally present today.”

Excited for book #2 in my #30DayChallenge. Thanks go to @davidfeldt for the recco. I have 3 days to finish 278 pages in order to stay on pace for 4 books in 4 weeks. #pray4me.

30 Day Challenge - (Day 12) “Journey To A New Me”

INSIGHT OF THE DAY

1) Our emotions do not always accurately represent our realities. (see video for full insight)

2) Breakthroughs often occur immediately after breakdowns, but only if you push through and don’t give up. People often quit just before they are about to make a major breakthrough, which is a shame because all their work would have been in vain.
