9 Tips TO HELP YOU PREPARE FOR OUR SHOOT

  1. Bring Options

Please bring at least 6 to 9 outfits. We’ll likely shoot 3-6 looks, but having extra options gives us flexibility. Choose outfits you feel confident and comfortable in—this makes the biggest difference.

  2. Clean + Ironed Clothes Only

It’s hard to look polished in wrinkled or stained clothes. Take a little time to prep everything beforehand—it really shows in the final shots.

  3. Warm, Vibrant Colours Work Beautifully

If you’re going for a warm, welcoming vibe, bright colours and rich tones work great. But don’t force it—feeling like yourself is always the most important thing.

  4. Texture + Layers Add Magic

Think sheer fabrics, denim, knits, or subtle patterns. Layering light and dark tones (like a black jacket over a white tee) can also create a striking effect on camera.

  5. Mix Up the Necklines

If you can, bring a few pieces with different necklines (e.g. v-neck, crew neck, button-up, off-the-shoulder). Totally optional—but it gives us more variety without needing a full outfit change.

  6. Play With Colour

Having a range of colours in your outfits helps the final gallery feel more dynamic—like we did multiple shoots in one session.

  7. Bring Your Touch-Up Kit

If you wear makeup, please bring your makeup bag for touch-ups. Same goes for a hairbrush, blotting papers, and chapstick. These little things go a long way during a shoot.

  8. Less is More (with Makeup)

A little mascara can make your eyes pop. Just be careful with heavy powder or foundation—it can look flat under natural light. We want your real glow to shine through.

  9. Eat Before + Give Yourself Time After

Come with energy (but not overly full). And if you can, don’t book anything too intense right after. These shoots can be surprisingly energizing—and sometimes a little emotional. Give yourself space to land afterward.

Range in NeckLines

The below photos are good examples of a variety of different necklines.

The key is to bring a few different options that have some range. (eg. v-neck, scoop, turtleneck, off-the shoulder, button up etc).

BRIGHT AND Vibrant CLOTHING

Below are several examples of how BRIGHT or VIBRANT colours can look very nice in natural light portraits. Again, don't over do it.
